The role:
The post holder is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients within the Gynaecology Service, including General Gynaecology and Gynaecology Oncology patients. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, they will assess patient needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care, and ensure care is delivered in line with national and local guidelines. Reporting to the Senior Charge Nurse, the post holder will also provide clinical guidance and professional support to colleagues, contribute to the management of resources, and help maintain high standards of patient care and nursing practice.
All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
Fixed term, Part-time 33.2 hours per week
Shift Pattern - 11.55-hour shifts
Base location - Princess Royal Maternity Hospital
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based patient care and maintain accurate clinical records.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care within a multidisciplinary team.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers and healthcare professionals.

Practice in accordance with NMC standards, NHS policies, Health & Safety requirements and infection control procedures.

Support patient involvement in care decisions and promote continuous improvement in clinical practice.

Contribute to staff training, student support, professional development and research activities.

Supervise and support staff as required.

Assist with resource management, stock control, service delivery and recruitment activities.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Registered Nurse on the NMC Register.

Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Knowledge of NMC standards, evidence-based practice and clinical governance.

Understanding of NHS policies, Health & Safety legislation and infection control requirements.

Experience of accurate clinical record-keeping and multidisciplinary team working.

Ability to meet the requirements of the role and maintain professional competence.
