Full job description

The Senior Survey Instructor plays a crucial role in our organization's training and development efforts. They are responsible for creating and maintaining survey course curriculums, covering entry-level to advanced topics. This specialist works closely with key stakeholders, including the Chief Surveyor and Technical Solutions teams, to ensure training materials are up-to-date and aligned with industry needs. Additionally, they provide hands-on training, conduct vessel visits for system checks, and maintain a shared training calendar to optimize training opportunities.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Education, Training, or a technical discipline.
Demonstrable relevant experience in instructional design or training delivery.
Strong research and writing skills for developing training materials.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Proficiency in using learning management systems and e-learning tools.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in training and development.
Willingness to travel for vessel visits and training sessions.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver's license and ability to obtain security clearance.

Develop and revise survey course curriculums for entry-level, intermediate, and advanced learners.
Conduct research and collaborate with subject matter experts to create accurate and relevant training materials.
Write technical and user manuals to support training programs.
Manage and maintain classroom supplies and equipment for instructional purposes.
Outsource equipment rentals for training as needed.
Deliver formal classroom courses, workshops, and computer-based training sessions.
Train personnel in mentoring and assessment processes.
Maintain a shared training calendar and identify opportunities for training field personnel.
Conduct vessel visits to ensure survey systems' functionality and provide hands-on training.
Comply with company safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions or practices.
International travel to deliver training.
