Children's Play Centre Assistant / Party Host - Customer Service (Part-Time)
Location: Thorne, Doncaster
Job Type: Part-time (8–16 hours per week)
Working Hours: Mainly weekends, with additional weekday, holiday, and sickness cover available. Working hours are between 9:30am and 6:00pm on a rota basis.
Salary: Competitive hourly rate paid in accordance with the National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage (age dependent).

No previous play centre experience is required — we are looking for the right attitude, a positive personality, and someone who enjoys making children and families smile.
A DBS check may be required for the successful candidate.
Your Responsibilities
As a Play Centre Team Member, you'll help create memorable experiences for every family who visits by:
- Hosting exciting children's birthday parties from start to finish, including welcoming families, serving food, and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Playing with and engaging children, ensuring they have a fun and safe experience.
- Providing outstanding customer service to all visitors.
- Greeting customers warmly and making them feel welcome.
- Taking food and drink orders and serving customers efficiently.
- Preparing party area before events and cleaning them afterwards.
- Keeping the play centre, café, party rooms, and seating areas clean, safe, and presentable.
- Cleaning tables, play equipment, kitchen areas, and other facilities throughout the day.
- Answering customer enquiries in person, over the phone, and by email.
- Following food hygiene, health and safety, and company procedures. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the café and customer areas.
- Assisting with opening and closing duties.
- Restocking supplies and helping maintain a well-organised environment.
- Working closely with your teammates to deliver an outstanding experience for every customer.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will be:
- Aged 16 or over.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Friendly, confident, and approachable.
- Naturally cheerful with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Comfortable speaking with both children and adults.
- Passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Flexible and available to work weekends and school holidays.
- Able to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Willing to help with all aspects of running the play centre.
Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, childcare, party hosting, or food service would be an advantage, but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
