We are looking for someone with good local knowledge, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a busy and varied workload.

As a Council Support Officer, you will be an essential part of a friendly, solution-focused team who deliver a co-ordinated, consistent, and high-quality service across the Council. You will play a key role in keeping the Council services running smoothly, supporting colleagues and partners to deliver efficient services for our communities.

After a probationary period you will receive training and development opportunities to facilitate a long-term career in local government with access to sector specific qualifications and mentorship.

What will you be doing?

Provide efficient, effective, flexible administrative, meeting and business support of a standard that demonstrates a high level of initiative and IT/administrative competence.
Act as the first point of contact for customers: Enquiries will range from colleagues requesting advice, to members of the public looking for the information on any aspect of Council services and community information.
Act as the Deputy Planning Committee Clerk.
Act as the supporting officer for events.
Support the operations of the Councils assets and services.
Assist in the delivery of specific activities, and projects across the Council.

Pay Scale LC1 (13-17) £29,064pa. up to £31,022pa.

37 hours pw. with a permanent contract after successful completion of a 6-month probationary period. The exact pattern of working will be agreed with you as part of the recruitment process and may be altered to reflect Councils operations. You will have the option to work remotely when appropriate.
