We are seeking a dedicated Motor Claims Handler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing motor insurance claims efficiently and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction while adhering to company policies and procedures. Duties
- Handle motor insurance claims from initial report through to resolution, maintaining regular communication with clients and third parties.
- Assess claim documentation, including police reports, repair estimates, and witness statements.
- Liaise with repair garages, assessors, and other relevant parties to facilitate smooth claims processing.
- Maintain accurate records of all claim activities using the company’s claims management system.
- Investigate claims thoroughly to determine liability and appropriate settlement amounts.
- Provide professional advice and support to clients throughout the claims process.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies during claim handling procedures.
Skills
- 1–3 years’ experience in UK motor claims, credit hire or accident management.
- Good understanding of the basic claims process (FNOL → repair/hire → settlement).
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional manner when dealing with clients and external contacts.
- Attention to detail is essential for accurate record keeping and claim assessment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and claim management software is advantageous.
