About the Role
We’re looking for a Dental Nurse to join our friendly, ambitious and patient-focused team.
This role is ideally suited to a GDC Registered Dental Nurse with previous experience supporting dental implant procedures and/or orthodontic treatment within a private dental practice.
Working closely with our dentists, hygienists and dental therapists, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care, supporting advanced clinical procedures and ensuring every patient enjoys a calm, professional and caring experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Exceptional Patient Care
- Welcome patients warmly and professionally into the surgery.
- Help patients feel relaxed, informed and comfortable throughout their appointment.
- Build trusting relationships through excellent communication and empathy.
- Reassure nervous patients using our pain-free, non-judgemental approach.
- Ensure every patient receives an exceptional experience throughout their visit.
Chairside Clinical Support
- Deliver efficient four-handed dentistry across a wide range of treatments.
- Provide chairside support for dentists, hygienists and dental therapists.
- Assist during implant, cosmetic, restorative and orthodontic procedures.
- Prepare surgeries, instruments and materials before each appointment.
- Anticipate clinicians' requirements to ensure appointments run efficiently.
- Support digital workflows including intraoral scanning, CBCT, clinical photography and digital treatment planning.
- Assist with radiography (where appropriately qualified) in accordance with IR(ME)R regulations.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and charting using SOE/EXACT.
Clinical Standards & Compliance
- Maintain the highest standards of cross infection control in accordance with HTM 01-05.
- Ensure surgeries remain clean, organised and fully prepared throughout the day.
- Sterilise instruments safely and efficiently.
- Maintain aspiration systems, autoclaves and clinical equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidance.
- Report equipment faults promptly.
- Safely dispose of clinical waste and sharps in accordance with current legislation.
- Complete all required daily, weekly and monthly compliance checks.
- Support CQC compliance and clinical governance.
- Adhere to all practice policies relating to confidentiality, GDPR, safeguarding, health and safety and emergency procedures.
Laboratory & Digital Workflow
- Prepare, disinfect and dispatch laboratory work accurately.
- Monitor outstanding laboratory cases and ensure all work is available ahead of appointments.
- Organise incoming laboratory work efficiently.
- Liaise effectively with laboratory partners to minimise delays.
Patient Support
- Support clinicians with medical history updates, consent documentation and treatment plans.
- Encourage patients to adopt a preventative approach to oral health.
- Reinforce oral hygiene advice and appropriate product recommendations.
- Recognise opportunities to refer suitable patients to our Treatment Coordinators for further discussions regarding implants, orthodontics or cosmetic dentistry.
Teamwork & Professional Development
- Work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, therapists, Treatment Coordinators, Patient Care Coordinators and the wider practice team.
- Liaise closely with Reception regarding appointment flow and any delays.
- Participate positively in practice meetings, training and team events.
- Share ideas that improve patient care, efficiency and the overall patient experience.
- Maintain and develop your professional knowledge through Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Embrace new technologies and opportunities to develop additional clinical skills, including implant nursing, orthodontics, radiography, intraoral scanning and clinical photography.
- Ability to work and assist on Front of House if and whenever required.

Person Specification
Essential
- GDC Registered Dental Nurse.
- Recognised Dental Nursing qualification.
- Previous experience supporting dental implant procedures and/or orthodontic treatment.
- Confident delivering four-handed dentistry.
- Experience working within a private dental practice.

About the Role:
Full time
Monday to Wednesday: 7:45am to 5:15pm
Thursday 7:45am to 7:15 pm
Friday: 4:45am to 4:15 pm
