What is the role?
We currently have an opportunity for a Vehicle Progressor to join our Used Car team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring every vehicle is prepared and ready for handover within the timeframes agreed with our customers, presented to BMW and MINI Approved Used Car standards, and maintained to reflect the highest level of retail standards on site.
Role responsibilities – including but not limited to:
- Monitor the preparation of sold used vehicles daily, ensuring cars are inspected and loaded for preparation on the day they arrive on site
- Appraise every used car on arrival for preparation requirements, and QC completed vehicles to ensure they meet Approved Used Car standard
- Manage a handover spreadsheet to ensure all vehicles are ready for handover in line with company expectations and AUC standards
- Liaise with the Aftersales team on vehicle preparation and authorisations, and discuss/agree any late preparation costs with the Sales or Brand Manager before additional work commences
- Assist with vehicle movements between business premises and our off-site compound, ensuring vehicles are fuelled to the agreed level before arriving at Chandler's Ford
- Support employee car scheme return vehicles, including timing, quality checking and pricing
- Assist with trade stock and overage stock disposal/collection, supporting the Head of Buying with vehicle collections where needed
- Audit valeting and body preparation standards to ensure they meet company expectations
- Provide the highest standard of courtesy and integrity when interacting with customers and colleagues, upholding the Partridge values at all times
Who you need to be
- You must have confident and professional communication skills, capable of conversing with others pleasantly, clearly and effectively
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, with a keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills
- Knowledge of vehicle preparation processes and a genuine interest in keeping up to date with BMW/BMW i/MINI product knowledge
- Able to drive a variety of vehicles in a calm, safe and reassuring manner, with a clean driving history free from excessive infringements
- Comfortable working with computer systems, with a working knowledge of Excel
Your experience
Previous experience in a similar vehicle preparation, progressor or used car role is preferred, along with a solid understanding of retail standards within a dealership environment.
