Full job description

Are you out going, love to stand up in front of a crowd and have an imagination like no other, then the role of an Activities & Wellbeing Co-ordinator might be your casting call!

Whether it is creating an interactive film day, decorating one of the lounges as a tearoom or hosting a sing-along session, our Activity & Wellbeing Coordinators are centre stage in our home.

Your main role will be to plan and deliver meaningful, person-centred activity and occupation to all our residents. You will also guide, develop and coach our staff in engagement and activity with residents, so that every day is filled with magic moments.

You will ensure residents’ dignity and self-esteem is enhanced through meaningful engagement, positive relationships and free expression of individuality. Creating and maintaining excellent community links So that you have the confidence and skills to deliver high quality activity and engagement to residents.

Plan & gain approval for a programme of varied group and/or individual events following discussions with individuals, care staff & relatives.
Publicise & communicate the programme, ensuring that all individuals have access.
Run all events on the programme giving regard to patient safety, comfort & enjoyment. Group events may include craft classes, music, films, quizzes, bingo, reminiscence, and entertainment.
Accompany people on outings, ensuring adequate provision of care staff & that all safety standards are met, particularly with regards to mobility.
Assist in fund raising activities.
Manage supply of all equipment.
Organise regular visits from Ministers of religious denominations.
Assist with transport for individuals who wish to attend religious services.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

Pontefract, West Yorkshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
