The successful candidate would be working as part of a team responsible for providing breakfast and lunch service to approx. 300 employees each day. Ensuring internal customer needs are always met, whilst ensuring full compliance with Food Safety and Hygiene standards.
Position: Canteen Manager
Based in: ABP Yetminster
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 6.00am to 3.00pm including breaks
Responsible for: 2 X Canteen Assistants

Training and Development
The role involves:
Oversee food preparation and presentation of breakfast and lunch service to ensure quality and consistency and is provided in a timely manner
Supervise and manage the canteen staff to ensure efficient operation
Ensure portion control and pricing of items is correct
Implement an effective Allergen Control System
Ensure all canteen employees attend food allergy training
Ensuring food safety compliance and all canteen employees receive up to date Food Safety Training
Ensure a weekly stock take is carried out and documented
Coordinating with suppliers
Maintaining inventory and stock ordering to prevent shortages and excesses
The canteen is non-profit making therefore you must be aware of good stock control and actively reduce food wastage whilst managing budget effectively
Menu design including themed days and national dishes
Take responsibility for two canteen assistants full time ensuring there is adequate staff manning
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the canteen
Ensuring the vending machines are stocked correctly at all times, pricing is correct and the machines are in good working order, breakdowns or issues are reported
Comply with company policy and procedure on safe food handling and hygiene at all times
Ensure all Food Safety documentation is completed and documented correctly and in a timely manner, so it meets all legal, company and site standards

Proven experience in a supervisory role in a food service or hospitality environment

Evidence of budget management
