Vacancy – Site Facilities Operator.

Stiller Warehousing & Distribution Ltd, have a vacancy for a Site Facilities Operator based out of our Head Office site at Ridgeway – Newton Aycliffe. The ideal candidate should be willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks across the business and have a willingness to work both inside and outside across the sites in all weather conditions.

We are looking for someone who is a team player with a positive and a “Can Do” attitude. This role requires someone who is observant and can think on their feet in the fast-paced environment of warehouses, workshops and office buildings across the various sites we operate on. Valid training in the use of Counterbalance Forklift Trucks would be preferred; however, training / refresher training will be provided if it is a requirement for the role.

Candidate Requirements:

· A willingness to undertake a wide variety of tasks to include working outside.

· Previous knowledge or aptitude for general maintenance repairs to site

· Able to multitask, have ability to prioritise and be effective at problem solving.

· Have a positive can-do attitude.

· Be organised, a good team player and where required able to work on own initiative.

· Full current driving license.

Main Responsibilities & Duties following training:

· To carry out day-to-day facilities and site support activities to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the premises.

· To support the site facilities team with the daily / weekly / bi-weekly duties as outline by Compliance Manager

· Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment, reporting defects and arranging repairs.

· Recycling of waste materials i.e. Cardboard, Plastic, Wood from the various sites within the business and operating baling machine.

· Use of ride on sweeper to clean large areas of warehouse and yard spaces.

· To assist with the loading / unloading of customer specific trailers and containers.

· To undertake general facilities, work – to include Painting, Installation of Signage, Notice Boards, Repair / Erect Fencing, Furniture moves etc.,

· To assist with fire safety checks, emergency lighting, fire doors and fire extinguishers.

· Following training assist with racking inspections and repairs.

· To provide support as required to other departments – to include FLT work, driving of company van, handballing of goods from trailer and dealing with spillages.

· Weekly reading and recording of utility meters across various sites.

· Winter preparation of site: clearing of footpaths, walkways, gate access and operating of snow plough where required.

Additional Duties: Driving of company non-commercial vehicles when required.

Terms of Employment.

· The hours of work will be 40 hours per week / 8 hours per day - Monday to Friday predominately between the hours of 12.00 – 20.00hrs, with a 40-minute pair break during an 8-hour shift.

· Candidates would be required to be flexible to work additional overtime hours where needed to meet customer requirements.

· The position will be based at Unit 10, Ridgeway, Aycliffe Business Park, Newton Aycliffe. DL5 6SP, however there will be a requirement to work from other sites within the business.

· Hourly rate of pay £13.18/hour- overtime paid after 40 hours worked. Shift allowances of £15.60/shift

· Annual Holiday Entitlement 20 days plus 8 statutory days.
