We are a Bed and Sofa Upholstery Company who are seeking an production operative to join our team, specialising in high-quality sofas. Your job role will consist of carry out a variety of Upholstery Techniques to a High Standard, including preparation, foaming, webbing and various upholstery techniques
This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where craftsmanship and attention to detail are highly valued. The ideal applicant will be adept at handling both traditional hand tools and modern power tools, with a keen eye for quality and precision.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and sew fabric or leather coverings for furniture items with accuracy and care
- Operate a range of hand tools (e.g., tack pullers, scissors) and power tools (e.g., staple guns, drills) safely and effectively
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace to ensure safety standards are met
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship
Experience
- Proven experience within a production environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to upholstery
- Skilled in sewing, fabricating, and working with various textiles and materials
- Proficient in the use of hand tools such as tack pullers, scissors, screwdrivers, and staple guns
- Competent with power tools including drills, saws, and pneumatic equipment
- Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling of furniture components is essential
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to deliver quality results on time
