Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and accuracy. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse experience, and a solid understanding of logistics processes. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for supervising staff, managing stock levels comnucatng to the , and coordinating shipping and receiving activities to meet organisational goals.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including stock management, picking & packing, shipping & receiving, and materials handling.
- Operate and oversee the use of forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently.
- Manage warehouse management system (WMS) to track inventory levels, locations, and movements accurately.
- Ensure proper stock organisation, stocking procedures, and inventory control measures are maintained at all times.
- Oversee the load & unload process of goods from lorries or containers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records using systems such as AS400 for inventory management and reporting purposes.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce health & safety regulations within the warehouse environment.
- Provide training and guidance to warehouse staff on operational procedures, mechanical knowledge, and safe handling practices.
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics teams, and suppliers to optimise supply chain operations.
- Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance productivity and minimise errors or delays.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse management with a strong understanding of stock control systems such Linworks
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and mechanical equipment used in materials handling.
- Solid knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, including load & unload operations.
- Ability to manage stock levels effectively through stocking strategies and inventory control techniques.
- Motorcycle Parts knowledge relevant to equipment maintenance or troubleshooting is advantageous.
- Experience in construction or materials handling environments is desirable.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks as required by the role.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to supervise a team efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and the Warehouse Manger and external partners.
