Portland House Care Home is a 32 bedded home, for individuals with care and support needs. We are hiring for a Part Time domestic assistant, two days a week 5.75hrs a day

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Domestic Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across various premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for clients and staff alike. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in cleaning and janitorial services, including those with hospital or commercial cleaning backgrounds. The position is paid and suitable for organised, reliable individuals committed to delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities

Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces
Maintain cleanliness of toilets, kitchens, and communal areas in accordance with health and safety standards
Handle waste disposal and replenish supplies such as soap and paper towels
Use specialised cleaning equipment where necessary, ensuring proper operation and safety procedures are followed
Follow designated cleaning schedules and report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly
Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Assist with additional tasks as required to support the smooth running of the premises

Experience

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is preferred
Experience working in hospital environments is highly desirable due to the specialised nature of hygiene standards
Familiarity with cleaning equipment and chemicals, with knowledge of health and safety protocols
Organised with strong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained
Reliable team player capable of working independently with minimal supervision
