Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm
Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm
Role overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Improvement Engineer with a strong background in electrical systems and industrial controls to drive operational excellence across the manufacturing process. The role focuses on the electrical and controls elements of machine building, in addition to high level support of such equipment in a FMCG production environment.
Main duties – Electrical and Controls Engineering:
- Design, implement, and test control systems using PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Robotics and industrial networks.
- Debug, and optimize PLC, Robotic and HMI software code.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, robotics, and machine safety hardware into automated systems.
- Analyse and improve performance of electrical systems, PLCs and automated machinery
- Modify and optimise control systems to improve uptime, cycle time and efficiency
- Support fault finding and troubleshooting of electrical/control issues within production environments
- Work closely with Mechanical, Quality, and Production teams to ensure system requirements are met.
Skills required:
- Ability to read/understand electrical drawings
- Experience with panel building/wiring and control systems programming.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills
- Be able to work both as part of a team and individually
- Clear effective Communication skills
- Attention to detail
- PC literate in Microsoft office
- Methodical / logical approach
- Minimum of an HNC or level 4 Qualification in an engineering principle
Experience required:
- Experience in a high-speed automated production environment
- Demonstrates a determination to deliver
- Demonstrates high level of pride in all work undertaken
Advantageous Qualifications and Experience:
- PRINCE2 qualification
- IOSH/NEBOSH qualification
- Recognised apprenticeship / time served
- Familiar with Keyence / Omron / Pro-face HMI’s / Epson Robots.
