Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, supporting diagnosis and treatment planning, and promoting oral health education.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your clinical skills within a supportive, modern private practice, contributing to the overall wellbeing of our patients. You will work closely with our dentists and wider clinical team to deliver comprehensive preventative and periodontal care.

We welcome applications from both experienced clinicians and newly qualified Dental Hygienists who are looking to begin or further their careers. Whether you are an experienced professional or a recent graduate, we are committed to providing a supportive environment where you can develop your clinical skills and confidence.

Duties

Carry out comprehensive periodontal assessments and oral health examinations.
Perform professional dental hygiene treatments, including scaling, root surface debridement, polishing, and stain removal.
Deliver Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) where appropriate.
Provide personalised oral hygiene instruction and preventative advice to patients.
Support diagnosis and treatment planning by communicating clinical findings to the dentist.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient clinical records.
Operate dental equipment safely and efficiently, including digital imaging systems where required.
Adhere to all infection prevention and control protocols, ensuring the surgery is maintained to the highest standards.
Promote oral health awareness through patient education and preventative care initiatives.
Work collaboratively with the wider dental team to deliver an exceptional patient experience.

Qualifications

Recognised qualification as a Dental Hygienist from an accredited institution.
Current registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) is essential.
Previous experience in a dental practice is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided where required.
Knowledge of periodontal assessment, treatment planning and preventative dentistry.
Familiarity with digital dental software and imaging systems is advantageous.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to educate and motivate patients.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy clinical diary efficiently.
A caring, professional and patient-focused approach.
