Your responsibilities would include the following;
- Prepare food: Cook food for a specific section of the menu, such as meat, fish, vegetables, sauces, or pastries
- Ensure quality: Make sure food is prepared correctly and meets customer and regulatory standards
- Maintain the kitchen: Keep the kitchen clean and operational
- Support other chefs: Assist the head and sous chefs, and supervise junior chefs
- Manage orders: Handle purchase orders and ensure all goods received are correct
- Follow procedures: Adhere to health and hygiene standards, and follow food collection, preparation, and storage procedures
- Communicate: Interact with other kitchen staff, managers, and colleagues
Skills Required
- Experience in a previous Chef role in a busy environment
- Culinary skills and qualification desirable
- Leadership skills
- Teamwork skills
- Awareness of Food Safety legislation (Food Safety level 2 desirable)
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, spec sheets and manuals
- Ability to present information and respond to questions
- Honesty
