About Chinnor RFC
Chinnor RFC is far more than a rugby club. We're a multi-faceted venue at the heart of the local community, home to a stunning 450sqm marquee alongside our clubhouse and grounds — a setting that plays host to everything from weddings and private parties to corporate away days, christenings and community fundraisers. As we grow our events business, we're looking for a proactive, personable Sales and Event Coordinator to help us bring in new business and keep our enquiries and bookings running smoothly.
The Role
This is a hybrid role combining business development with hands-on coordination. You'll be the first point of contact for new enquiries and the driving force behind bringing new clients and bookings to the venue, while working closely with our events team to make sure every booking is set up to be delivered brilliantly.
Championship Rugby Matchday Hospitality
Chinnor RFC's First XV compete in the Championship, and matchdays present a significant hospitality opportunity alongside our wider events business. You'll take the lead on growing this side of the business — selling and coordinating corporate hospitality packages for Championship fixtures, building relationships with sponsors and local businesses, and working with the events team to ensure matchday hospitality is delivered to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive hospitality business for Chinnor RFC's First XV Champ fixtures, growing corporate and matchday hospitality packages
- Drive occupancy to our own internal events
- Proactively generate new business leads and enquiries for the venue, including weddings, corporate events, private parties and community functions
- Respond to incoming enquiries promptly and professionally, converting interest into confirmed bookings
- Conduct show-rounds and client meetings, showcasing the marquee and wider club facilities
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, agencies and past clients to encourage repeat and referral business
- Coordinate booking details and handover information clearly to the events team for delivery
- Maintain accurate records of enquiries, bookings and sales activity, using these to inform future sales approaches
- Support pricing, package development and promotional activity to maximise venue occupancy
- Represent Chinnor RFC at wedding fairs, networking events and other promotional opportunities as required
- Work collaboratively with the wider club and events team to ensure a consistent, high-quality client experience from first enquiry through to event day
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in sales, business development or event coordination (venue or hospitality experience is a strong advantage)
- A confident, personable communicator who builds rapport quickly with clients
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and bookings at once
- Comfortable working independently in a hybrid role, while staying closely connected to the events team
- A proactive, target-driven approach to generating new business
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to attend occasional evening or weekend show-rounds and promotional events
What We Offer
- £15–£20 per hour, depending on experience
- Hybrid working, up to 20 hours per week
- The chance to help shape the growth of a distinctive and beautiful events venue
- A friendly, supportive club environment at the heart of the Chinnor community
