As an HR Recruitment Advisor, you'll work closely with hiring managers across Suffolk County Council, helping them recruit the people they need to deliver services for the people of Suffolk.
You'll manage your own recruitment portfolio, acting as the main HR Recruitment contact for the services you support. From the initial recruitment briefing through to appointment, you'll provide practical advice, helping managers attract the right candidates, deliver fair, inclusive and effective recruitment processes, ensure appointments are compliant and create a positive experience for candidates.
This role is about more than managing vacancies. Our Recruitment Advisors build strong relationships with the services they support, understand the challenges they're facing and work with them to find the right recruitment solutions.
You’ll also contribute to the wider work of the team by:

Leading and contributing to recruitment and HR improvement projects

Providing advice on sponsorship, immigration and right to work requirements
-
Supporting employees through the redeployment process
-
Representing the organisation at jobs fairs and careers events
-
Delivering training and information/knowledge sharing events
About you
We're looking for someone with a solid understanding of recruitment and experience of providing advice and support throughout the recruitment process. Ideally, you'll have worked in an in-house recruitment or HR environment, although this isn't essential if you can demonstrate the right knowledge, skills and experience.
You'll also:

Have a strong working knowledge of recruitment best practice and employment legislation.

Be confident building relationships, advising managers and understanding their recruitment needs.

Be organised and able to manage a busy workload with competing priorities.

Be proactive, taking ownership of your work and looking for opportunities to improve.

An understanding of UK immigration and Home Office sponsorship requirements (desirable).
This is a hybrid role, meaning you can work from both home and the office. There is a requirement to spend around 40% of your working time in the office, including our team day on Wednesdays.

The Recruitment team is part of the wider HR service. This role reports into the Recruitment Partner, and you’ll be joining a team of five Recruitment Advisors, supported by a Recruitment Administrator.
