Full job description

Estimator or Quantity Surveyor required for construction company based near West Bromwich area.

Do you have experience working as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor on Fit-out, refurbishment or projects?

Do you have experience working on your own projects with minimal Supervision?

Are you a dynamic, progressive Quantity Surveyor, want to have your own team?

Running 2-3 projects at any one time?

An established Midlands Regional Construction Contractor with offices near West Bromwich are looking for an Estimator / Projects Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to work in there flag ship office .

This position offers a salary between 45-55k with a Car, Car Allowance, Pension. You will be working on flagship projects in the Midlands area up to £5 million in value. The company values Organic growth.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates based on project specifications, drawings, and tender documents
Analyse project plans and specifications to determine material, labour, and equipment costs
Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and submissions
Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets
Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimise project expenditure
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to negotiate costs and secure competitive prices
Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects
Identify potential cost overruns early and recommend corrective actions
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and client requirements regarding financial management
Support contract administration activities including variation assessments and claims management

Experience

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator within the construction sector
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards
Demonstrable expertise in cost control techniques and budget management
Proficiency in estimating software programmes such as CostX, Bluebeam, or similar tools is desirable
Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines
Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field are preferred
