Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Bricklayers Labourer/Improver to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will support skilled bricklayers and masons by preparing materials, handling tools, and assisting with various masonry tasks. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in bricklaying, masonry, and related trades while contributing to high-quality building projects. Your enthusiasm and willingness to learn will be key as you gain valuable experience working on diverse construction sites.
You will be labouring for 2 bricklayers mainly on A building site with a forktruck and ready mix/silo mortar. Pay will depend on level of ability/ work rate.
Training could be provided for the right person.
Responsibilities
- Assist bricklayers and masons with preparing work areas, mixing mortar, and handling materials
- Operate hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels to support masonry tasks
- Use power tools safely and effectively for cutting bricks or blocks as needed
- Help with site cleanup, organizing materials, and maintaining a tidy work environment
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a secure work site for yourself and others
- Learn and develop skills in masonry techniques, including bricklaying and general construction practices
Experience
- Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments
- Prior experience or training in bricklaying, masonry, or related trades is advantageous but not essential; a strong willingness to learn is key
- Knowledge of safety procedures on construction sites is preferred
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively as part of a team
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks throughout the workday
