About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and organised Transport Office Assistant to join our transport and logistics team in an office-based role. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced transport environment and enjoys keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Maintenance & Compliance
- Manage and monitor MOT schedules to ensure all vehicles remain road legal.
- Plan and coordinate vehicle servicing, safety inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Schedule and track six-weekly inspections and ensure maintenance records remain up to date.
- Liaise with workshop staff and external garages to arrange repairs, servicing and inspections.
- Monitor vehicle defects and ensure repairs are completed promptly.
- Keep accurate maintenance histories for the entire fleet.
- Ensure vehicle tax, operator licence requirements and all legal documentation remain current.
- Assist with fleet compliance to DVSA and Operator Licence requirements.
- Maintain digital and paper records required for transport audits and inspections.
- Help prepare documentation for compliance visits and regulatory inspections.
What We're Looking For
- Previous administration or planning experience within the transport, logistics or haulage industry.
- Experience with vehicle maintenance planning or transport compliance would be highly advantageous.
- Good understanding of fleet maintenance schedules, MOTs and vehicle inspections.
- Knowledge of transport legislation, DVSA requirements or Operator Licence compliance is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Able to work independently while contributing as part of a busy team.
- A willingness to learn and take ownership of your responsibilities.

Salary
Starting salary: £31,000 per year.
