About the Role
London is home to some of the world's most innovative digital businesses, and at The Tangent Studio, we're passionate about creating digital experiences that people genuinely enjoy using. We design intuitive websites, mobile applications, and digital products that combine thoughtful user experiences with clean, modern interfaces.
We're looking for a UX/UI Designer to join our growing creative team. This is an opportunity to work on exciting projects from concept through delivery while collaborating closely with product managers, developers, and fellow designers. You won't simply be designing screens—you'll help shape how users interact with products that solve real business challenges.
As a key member of our design team, you'll champion user-centered thinking, transform complex ideas into elegant interfaces, and contribute to products that balance business goals with exceptional usability.
Why Work With Us?
Creative Culture: Our London studio encourages collaboration, curiosity, and experimentation. Every idea is welcome, and every designer has the opportunity to influence the final product.
Meaningful Projects: From ambitious startups to established businesses, you'll work on a diverse portfolio of digital products across multiple industries.
Modern Design Workflow: We use Figma as our primary design platform and collaborate closely with engineering teams throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Professional Growth: We encourage continuous learning through mentorship, design discussions, workshops, and opportunities to expand your skills across UX, UI, research, and interaction design.
Key Responsibilities
User Experience Design: Create user journeys, personas, wireframes, and information architecture that simplify complex user problems.
Interface Design: Design visually engaging, responsive interfaces for web and mobile applications that align with modern design standards.
Prototyping: Produce interactive prototypes that communicate user flows and validate design concepts before development begins.
Collaboration: Partner closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure designs are practical, scalable, and user-focused.
Design Systems: Contribute to and maintain reusable design components that ensure consistency across multiple digital products.
User Research: Participate in usability testing, analyze user feedback, and continuously improve products based on research findings and performance insights.
Design Reviews: Present concepts confidently, explain design decisions, and incorporate constructive feedback throughout each project phase.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in UX/UI Design, Product Design, or Digital Design with experience designing responsive digital products.
Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design thinking, including research, wireframes, prototypes, visual design, and completed products.
Design Tools: Advanced proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, Components, Variants, Prototyping, and Design Systems. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is beneficial.
Technical Understanding: Familiarity with responsive design principles, accessibility standards, and collaborating with frontend developers using modern frameworks.
Communication: Excellent English communication skills with the ability to clearly present ideas, explain design decisions, and collaborate within cross-functional teams.
Mindset: You're naturally curious, detail-oriented, and user-focused. You enjoy solving challenging design problems, embrace feedback, and thrive in collaborative environments while maintaining a balance between high-quality craftsmanship and efficient product delivery.
