Job Purpose: Due to continued growth within our pre-hung division, we're looking for an ambitious Technical Sales Executive to join our Door Set Sales team.
This is an exciting opportunity to manage the full sales journey from initial enquiry through to manufacture and delivery, driving national sales of our pre-hung door sets through our network of builders' merchants and door retailers. You'll work directly with architects, specifiers, contractors and end users to get our door sets specified on projects and smooth the process from specification to delivery, ensuring every order sells through our merchant and retail partners.
You'll be confident completing door take-offs from specifications, schedules and architectural drawings, preparing accurate quotations, and closing sales against clear targets – all while working hand-in-hand with our internal sales, marketing and operations teams.
If you enjoy technical sales, building lasting customer relationships, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Build a sales pipeline using our construction database to identify and engage decision makers and influencers, including architects, specifiers, quantity surveyors, project managers and site managers.
- Complete accurate door and door set take-offs from specifications, door schedules, call-off sheets and architectural drawings to produce detailed, accurate quotations.
- Manage multiple order values ranging from £2k - £1m, with a clear focus on achieving and exceeding company sales targets.
- Follow up inbound enquiries, negotiate confidently and convert opportunities into closed sales.
- Champion our sell-through model: work with architects, specifiers and contractors to secure specifications, then route and close each sale through the appropriate builders' merchant or door retailer partner, supporting all parties to smooth the process from enquiry to delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with our builders' merchant and door retailer customers, becoming their trusted point of contact for pre-hung door set projects.
- Work closely with our internal sales, marketing and operations teams to maximise opportunities, share pipeline intelligence, and build tailored customer success plans that demonstrate the value of our pre-hung door sets.
- Manage the complete sales pipeline from enquiry through to manufacture and delivery, coordinating with the Operations Manager to keep multiple jobs on track against manufacturing timelines, call-off sheets, drawings and specification sheets.
- Organise your own diary and customer visits to develop relationships with architects, specifiers, contractors and merchant partners.
- Develop and, once established in the role, deliver technical product presentations and CPD sessions to existing and prospective customers, explaining our products and services.
- Interpret building schedules and architectural drawings to provide accurate pricing.
- Respond to technical and commercial enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Provide general sales administration support as required.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Previous internal sales experience within a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Proven ability to work to, and exceed, sales targets.
- Ability to complete accurate take-offs from door schedules, specifications and architectural drawings.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage architects, specifiers, contractors and trade customers alike.
- A proven closer – comfortable negotiating and converting enquiries into orders.
- Experience managing a sales pipeline from enquiry through to completion.
- A collaborative approach, with experience liaising with internal sales, marketing and operations colleagues.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and organise your own workload.
- Commercially aware with a proactive approach to sales.
Desirable:
- Experience working with door sets, doors or architectural ironmongery.
- Experience selling building products through builders' merchants or retail channels.
- Knowledge of the construction or building products industry.
- GAI qualification (or willingness to develop towards one).
Personal Attributes:
- Motivated, driven and results-focused.
- Enjoys building relationships with customers and colleagues.
