Role Overview
We are looking for a dependable and safety-conscious Part-Time Class 1 Driver to join our poultry feed mill team. The role involves operating a Scania R450 with bulk and blower trailers to deliver poultry feed to farms and collect raw materials as required. You will be responsible for safe driving, correct feed discharge procedures, and maintaining excellent communication with mill staff and farm customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Scania R450 with bulk and blower trailers to deliver poultry feed to farms.
- Carry out safe unloading using blower equipment into on-farm silos, ensuring no contamination and maintaining product quality standards.
- Perform collections of raw materials for the feed mill when required.
- Conduct thorough daily vehicle checks, complete defect reports, and follow company maintenance procedures.
- Complete all delivery notes, digital logs, and compliance paperwork accurately.
- Uphold strict biosecurity protocols, including vehicle hygiene, site entry procedures, and farm biosecurity measures.
- Maintain clean equipment, paying particular attention to preventing cross-contamination of feed.
- Communicate effectively with the mill team, farmers, and dispatch to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to all transport legislation, feed safety regulations, health & safety requirements, and company operating standards.
Essential Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
- Current Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Experience with blower trailers or willingness to undergo training.
- Understanding of agricultural transport, feed hygiene, or bulk haulage.
- Strong commitment to biosecurity and feed safety.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience delivering poultry feed or agricultural products.
- Familiarity with Scania R-Series vehicles.
- Experience working within a feed mill or agricultural setting.
Hours & Pay
- Part-time / flexible hours depending on mill requirements and driver availability.
- Occasional early starts, weekends, or ad-hoc cover may be required.
