What You'll Be Doing
As one of the first points of contact for HR and recruitment, you'll play a key role in delivering an outstanding employee experience from recruitment through to employment.
You'll be involved in:
Recruitment
- Supporting the recruitment process from vacancy through to onboarding
- Completing pre-employment checks including references, Right to Work, DBS and qualifications
- Communicating with candidates and managers throughout the recruitment journey
HR Administration
- Preparing contracts, variation letters and other employment documentation
- Managing employee records and ensuring all HR data is accurate and up to date
- Processing starters, leavers and contractual changes
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with GDPR
Employee Support
- Responding to HR enquiries from managers and employees
- Monitoring probation reviews, visa checks, DBS renewals and driving license checks
- Recording sickness absence and supporting managers with absence processes
- Liaising with Payroll regarding starters, leavers, contractual changes and family leave
Continuous Improvement
- Supporting HR projects and service improvements
- Identifying smarter ways of working
- Helping maintain efficient and compliant HR systems and processes
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys HR administration and takes pride in delivering an excellent service.

- Self-starter with interest in making continuous improvements to work practices
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
We're particularly interested in candidates who have:
- Experience working within an HR or Recruitment environment
- Experience producing employment contracts and HR correspondence
- Experience using HR databases or HR information systems
- Experience working in a busy administrative office
- Good understanding of HR processes and UK employment legislation
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- A recognised HR qualification (or currently studying towards one)
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
- Experience of working in an HR or Recruitment role
- Experience working in a fast paced office environment
- Experience issuing contracts of employment and associated documentation
- Experience of using an HR database/system to effectively, store and retrieve data
- Experience of DBS check and DBS update service (desirable)
- Experience of working in the Social Care Sector (desirable)
- Experience of advising on HR Policies and procedures (desirable)
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
It would be great if you also have;
- Good working knowledge of basic UK employment law
- Ability to liaise with other professionals and maintain effective working relationships
- Good I.T. skills including the Microsoft office suite
- Excellent written English
- Understanding of HR processes and requirement
- Aptitude for persistence and detail orientated
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to multi task, managing conflicting demands and priorities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- To be able to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of their work
- To contribute to new and improved ways of working to ensure the delivery of an effective HR service
- Good working knowledge of GDPR
- Good working knowledge of CQC requirements (desirable)
