Hours: Full-time and Part-time Available

Elementa are a recruitment partner for this school and we're supporting in recruiting an English Teacher to join the department team.

The English team at this school have recently had a new Head of Department join and there is a new buzz around the department so the focus is to find & welcome a new team member to share the same enthusiasm.The English department is fortunate to be located in their own building and with a large independent staff workroom. The team are all English subject specialists and work collaboratively.

The school delivers to Key Stage 3 & 4 students and is a well-established community school, based in a small town with a catchment area also drawing from rural areas. The school have long enjoyed a good reputation and forms an important part of the local community. There's a bright outlook on their future, with a new school building being an eagerly anticipated positive change. The school have long enjoyed a 'Good' grading by Ofsted although have recently had several areas flagged as requiring improvement. Nevertheless, the school are confident in making changes to restore their Good outcomes.

The school will be running a formal selection process including a school tour, an observed teaching lesson, panel interview and student council meeting.

Elementa is the recruiting partner therefore applicants being considered for the role after pre-screening will be required to complete the registration process for Elementa. This includes full vetting, background & referencing checks and application for a DBS Enhanced Disclosure (which may be chargeable at £62.70) unless you have a current DBS on the update service.

PAYE contract – unless a candidate specifically requests it, all candidates are paid via PAYE giving them the protections and payment structure of a traditional employer:employee relationship.
Training & Support – a broad range of free or heavily discounted training available including Safeguarding, Behaviour, Team Teach, SEND, Makaton and Thrive. Regular welfare contact and support from a dedicated candidate manager.
Fair pay policy – our candidates are paid to scale, where a variation on this may be required written agreement will be provided ahead of the position.
