Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Application Development Officer to join our team. In this role, you will support and deliver development within our Unit4 ERP system, including upgrades, module implementations, integrations, and continuous improvement activities. You will also support light-touch development and continuous improvement across ancillary systems such as Gamma, Heycentric, and other supporting platforms, identifying opportunities to enhance functionality and integration across the wider application landscape.
You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and manage the outputs of third-party Unit4 implementation partners to ensure high-quality delivery aligned with business needs. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of our systems roadmap by identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Key responsibilities include resolving 2nd and 3rd line support queries, designing and building system integrations, and ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and fit for purpose. You will play an active role in knowledge sharing, providing training and guidance to application support staff to build internal capability.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help develop and implement effective, forward-thinking solutions that support organisational objectives. Your expertise in ERP systems, integration approaches, and collaborative working will be essential in driving successful outcomes.
Individual Requirements:
- Proven experience in system development within an enterprise environment
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (experience with Unit4 ERP or similar systems would be advantageous)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, organise workload effectively, and meet deadlines
- Understanding of coding and development principles; hands-on experience would be advantageous but is not essential
- Awareness of emerging technologies and a proactive approach to continuous learning and improvement

Salary: The salary band for this role is £41,771 - £46,141 per annum. The starting salary is £41,771 with annual progression through the salary bands.
