We are seeking a dynamic, customer-focused, Sales Associate to join our store in Southampton. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, organisational abilities and have a passion for delivering exceptional service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage with diverse customers, promote our products and contribute to the overall success of our retail environment. The position is suitable for individuals eager to develop their retail experience in a vibrant setting - we offer commission as well as your base rate!!!
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
- Provide knowledgeable advice on merchandise, including features and benefits
- Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure attractive product displays
- Upsell products and promotions to maximise sales opportunities
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system, including handling cash and card payments
- Manage stock levels, organise stockroom areas and assist with inventory counts
- Support organisational tasks such as maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the sales floor
- Assist with organising promotional events or seasonal displays as required
Requirements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing stock counts
- Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management to ensure all responsibilities are completed promptly
- Experience in merchandising or retail sales is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- A proactive attitude with a friendly approach and willingness to learn
