Welder/Fabricator
Join a team where no two days are the same.
At IME Repair Services, we don't do the same type of work, day out. We solve engineering problems.
From emergency vessel repairs and complex structural fabrications to specialist industrial projects, our work supports some of the UK's most critical marine, petrochemical and industrial operations. Every project presents a new challenge, giving our team the opportunity to apply their skills across a wide variety of technically demanding work.
Recently becoming part of the globally recognised Damen Shipyards Group, we're entering an exciting new chapter while continuing to build on the reputation that IME has earned over decades for quality, reliability and engineering excellence.
If you're an experienced welder looking for varied, rewarding work within a professional and supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
Based at our Southampton headquarters, you'll work both from our workshop and on customer sites across the UK, possibly even overseas, carrying out a diverse range of fabrication, repair and maintenance work.
You'll be involved in projects across the marine, industrial and petrochemical sectors, producing work to the highest standards while working alongside experienced engineers and technicians who take real pride in what they do.
This is a hands-on role where adaptability, craftsmanship and attention to detail are valued just as highly as technical ability.
We're Looking for Someone Who Has
- Experience in fabrication and welding within industrial, marine or heavy engineering environments.
- Competence in a range of welding processes, including MIG, TIG and MMA (or equivalent).
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- A strong commitment to quality, safety and professional standards.
- A proactive attitude, good problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to travel throughout the UK when required.
Relevant welding qualifications and certifications are advantageous.
Why IME?
We're proud of the reputation we've built, but it's our people who make the difference.
Our team enjoys working on genuinely interesting engineering projects where skill and experience are recognised and every individual plays an important part in delivering outstanding results for our customers.
If you're looking for a role that offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to be part of an ambitious engineering business with an exciting future, we'd welcome a conversation.
