Job summary
We are recruiting an Occupational Health Clinic Nurse to join our friendly, highly skilled Occupational Health team. This is a fixed term or secondment opportunity.
Occupational Health is a varied and rewarding specialty, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to staff health, wellbeing and safety. In this role you will deliver a range of clinical activities including fitness for work assessments, vaccinations, venepuncture, contact tracing and support following exposure to blood or bodily fluids. You will also provide timely and compassionate advice to staff and managers, using sound clinical judgement and the ability to prioritise effectively, particularly when supporting the nurse duty line.
You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team alongside Occupational Health Advisors, Physicians, Physiotherapists and administrative colleagues, with close links across the wider Trust.
This role would suit someone who is clinically confident, adaptable and people focused, enjoys problem solving and is motivated by improving staff wellbeing. Whether you are new to Occupational Health or looking to further develop your skills in the specialty, you will be fully supported through induction, mentorship and ongoing supervision.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
The post holder will deliver a high quality Occupational Health service to Trust staff and external clients, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities include:
Assessing new starters' fitness for work, reviewing health questionnaires and advising on reasonable workplace adjustments
Delivering vaccination programmes and phlebotomy services, including followup where required
Providing assessment, advice and support following contamination and exposure incidents, including sharps and bodily fluid exposures
Managing, ordering and monitoring medications, vaccines and consumables
Providing advice and support during infectious disease incidents and outbreaks, including liaison with IPC
Making onward referrals to specialist services where indicated
Supporting the Nurse Duty line, responding to queries using sound clinical judgement and effective prioritisation
Undertaking risk assessments in line with Health & Safety legislation, the Equality Act and Trust policies
Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and participating in audit and quality activities, including SEQOHS standards
