The Role
The Project Finance Executive role at Ambrey provides essential financial and analytical support to the Management Accountant, contributing to effective financial management and informed operational decision-making. The position is responsible for assisting with management accounting activities across the finance function, while also supporting treasury operations, purchase ledger, and sales ledger processes. Working closely with the wider finance team, the role plays an important part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls, and supporting the delivery of timely financial information that underpins the organisation's performance and strategic objectives. The role is for a 6 month fixed term period.

Responsibilities

Prepare project financial reports, including financial analysis and variance reporting, to support the Finance Project Lead
Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing financial performance monitoring.
Reconcile project financial transactions against contractual agreements, ensuring revenue and costs align with contract terms.
Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of cash flow forecasts to support effective financial planning.
Support year-end financial close activities and provide assistance during internal and external audits.
Journal preparation and posting
Provide financial support to the project Finance lead, responding to project-related requests and ad hoc analysis.
Prepare and review weekly supplier payment runs, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company procedures for review by Finance project lead.
Provide guidance and support to the finance team on day-to-day processing queries and ensure transactional issues are resolved efficiently.
Assist with the preparation of regular cash flow reports for management

Qualifications and Skills

Qualified ACCA/ACA with a minimum of three years previous relevant experience
Knowledge using Microsoft BC or similar ERP systems
Knowledge using Sage Payroll
Excellent IT skills including all Microsoft Office programs.
The post holder will require a complex set of skills – must be a combination of process driven, dynamic, forward thinking, and analytical with a high level of flexibility & adaptability
Strong administrative skills, with the ability to multi-task in a busy environment, meet deadlines and maintain a high attention to detail.
A demonstrable knowledge of relevant financial accounting reporting rules.
Excellent communicator with internal and external stakeholders and strong presentation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Up to date knowledge of accounting/HMRC regulations
Confident and able to make informed decision

Terms and Conditions

Salary: Commensurate with experience
Annual Leave: 25 days per annum plus public holidays
Working hours: 08:30am to 17:30pm Monday to Friday
Job type: Fixed-Term for 6-months
