About the Role
This role is part of a team restructure to support the company’s new direction. The Accounts & HR Administrator role will focus on the operational delivery of day-to-day finance administration, HR documentation, and supplier coordination.
You will be the go-to person for keeping our finance and HR admin running smoothly. From updating ledgers and coordinating payroll data to issuing contracts and liaising with our external HR provider, your work will help keep the company compliant, efficient, and well-organised. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys variety, is confident using accounting and HR systems, and is motivated by being part of a company that’s building for the future.
You’ll work closely with both internal team members and external partners, and will report to a senior member of the leadership or finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts & Finance Admin
- Maintain purchase and sales ledgers
- Monitor customer accounts and carry out credit control (including following up on outstanding payments)
- Manage and file customer credit application forms
- Update monthly payroll spreadsheets with hours, rates, and holiday info
- Coordinate with external payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate payroll runs
- Download and distribute payslips and payroll documents via Xero
- Assist in processing payroll payments
- Gather quotes for renewal of utilities (gas, electricity, water)
HR Administration
- Draft and issue contracts of employment and HR documents using Peninsula templates
- Liaise with Peninsula on employment-related issues (e.g., warnings, terminations, redundancies)
- Maintain confidential employee records
- Support ad-hoc HR admin and coordination tasks
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a finance or office administration role
- Working knowledge of Xero (highly preferred)
- Familiarity with credit control processes
- Understanding of payroll inputs and ability to liaise with providers
- Proficient with Excel and other MS Office tools
- Basic knowledge of HR processes and documentation
- High level of attention to detail and organisational skills
- Discreet and professional when handling sensitive employee information
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Familiarity with Peninsula or other HR advisory services
- General knowledge of UK employment law
Pay: £40,000.00 per year
