Moore Barlow is currently seeking a Trusts & Tax Manager to join our specialist Private Wealth Team.
We welcome applications from candidates based in any of our main office locations; Southampton, Richmond, London, Guildford, Woking, Lymington.
Whilst this position is offered full-time, we can offer flexible working. We are a flexible team and open to considering alternative working patterns.

Led by Richard Burgess, you’ll be working with other Partners to include Tim Adams, Lewis Edwards and Naomi Wilkes. Our Private Wealth Team in Guildford has received recognition in both The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners for the quality of the service we provide to our clients.
Our team works predominantly with individuals falling into the “high-net-worth” category (which typically refers to those with personal assets totalling £5m-£20m) across the full spectrum of private client matters. It advises on Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, lifetime and succession planning, IHT and CGT planning, estate administration, as well as the creation, administration, and winding up of trusts.
Day to Day
As a Trusts & Tax Manager, you will assist with all matters associated with the administration of trusts and estates, including (but not limited to):
Day-to-day administration and operation of a broad range of trusts
Supporting trustees in understanding and discharging their fiduciary and statutory duties
Preparing and maintaining trust and estate accounts
Preparing trustee and executor meeting minutes and trustee resolutions
Advising on and dealing with trust and estate reporting and compliance matters, including the registration of trusts and maintenance of records on HMRC’s Trust Registration Service (TRS)
Drafting routine trust documents, such as trustee meeting minutes and, resolutions
Liaising with HMRC, investment managers, and other third parties
Assisting with the preparation and filing of tax returns (income, capital gains, and inheritance tax)
Liaising and building relationships with clients and referrers

What we look for
Experience in trusts and tax administration, ideally gained within a legal or professional services environment
A relevant professional qualification such as CILEX, AAT, ATT, CTA, and/or STEP, or a willingness and capability to work towards at least one of these
Confidence in managing a varied workload with attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent technical, organisational, and communication skills
A proactive and collaborative approach, with a “human-first” mindset and genuine interest in helping clients achieve their goals
Adaptability in approach to corresponding and working with clients of different types (including high net worth and vulnerable), as well as colleagues and other professionals
