Scapes Group Ltd. is a privately-owned facilities management business providing communal cleaning and grounds maintenance services to a range of residential settings throughout the South East. Our teams serve a large number of Housing Associations and their customers, while also working with offices, residential care homes, private estates and local authorities.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and proactive Senior Cover Cleaner to join our dedicated team.
This is a predominantly hands-on cleaning role, providing cover for staff holidays, sickness absence and other planned or unplanned leave across a wide geographical area. You will work across multiple sites as required, ensuring our clients continue to receive a consistently high standard of service.
Alongside your cleaning duties, you will provide day-to-day operational support to the Contracts Manager by assisting with a range of administrative and supervisory tasks. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced cleaner looking to take the next step in their career without moving into a fully supervisory position.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality communal cleaning services across multiple sites, covering staff holidays, sickness absence and other leave.
- Assist with covering additional workloads during Bank Holiday weeks and periods of increased demand.
- Assist Contracts Manager with monthly TBTs and on-site training of new team members.
- Monitor stock levels, PPE and cleaning equipment, reporting replenishment requirements.
- Communicate effectively with operatives, supervisors and management to ensure the smooth running of contracts.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Company policies, procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Previous professional cleaning experience.
- Good knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and safe working practices.
- A proactive and flexible approach with the ability to adapt to different sites and changing priorities.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive, friendly attitude and commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- Over 21 years of age (for fleet vehicle insurance purposes).
Previous experience in social housing, communal cleaning or a senior/team leader role would be advantageous but is not essential.
Working hours are usually 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week.
We offer a competitive salary starting from £27,664.00 per annum, dependant on relevant experience, a company van & phone, 28 days paid holiday, pension scheme and the opportunity to work in a great team within a growing organisation.
