Optical Assistant

Are you passionate about delivering outstanding customer service?

We are looking for a friendly, motivated Optical Assistant to join our growing team of independent opticians. We pride ourselves on providing personalised eye care in a welcoming and professional environment, where every patient receives exceptional service.

Location

This is a multi-site role, with your primary place of work being across our Wollaton and Aspley practices. You will also provide cover at our other practices as required to meet the needs of the business.

As travel between practices is an essential part of this role, access to a car and the ability to travel independently will sometimes be essential.

Key Responsibilities

· Welcome patients and provide a friendly, professional service.

· Assist customers in choosing frames and lenses to suit their lifestyle, prescription, and budget.

· Support the optometrists by carrying out pre-screening tests and preparing patients for appointments.

· Manage appointments and respond to enquiries both in person and over the telephone.

· Process payments and maintain accurate patient records.

· Help ensure the practice is clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times.

· Assist with stock control, merchandising, and maintaining attractive frame displays.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

· Passionate about providing excellent customer care.

· An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

· Patient, caring, and attentive to detail.

· Confident using computers and learning new systems.

· A reliable team player with a positive, can-do attitude.

Previous experience in retail, customer service, or the optical industry would be an advantage, but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Working Hours

· Monday to Saturday

· 9:00am – 5:00pm

· You will not be expected to work every Saturday.
