All about the Role
Westcombe Engineering is seeking a dedicated and technically strong Skilled CNC Machinist to play a key role in our precision engineering team. The individual will be a key leader and ensure quality and precision with all maufacturing. As a member of our workshop leadership team, you'll set up, run and monitor CNC machinery for batch production of high-quality components, helping us fulfil our reputation for practical, cost-effective solutions and exceptional service. You will lead a team of staff ensuring H&S and meeting demands on production.
In this role you will:
Prepare CNC machines (Milling and Turning) for production runs — selecting tooling, setting feeds and speeds, and ensuring safe operation
Read, edit and write CNC programs, making adjustments as required to maintain accuracy and efficiency
Monitor machine performance, inspect parts during production, and work with quality checks to maintain tolerances
Troubleshoot machining problems, re-set or re-run as needed, minimising downtime
Collaborate with production planners, engineers, and quality teams to meet deadlines and maintain workflow
Uphold safety standards, maintain clean and orderly workstations, support continuous improvement

Proven experience as a machinist (CNC or manual).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and support others.
Able to lead a team
Good sound Health and Safety knowledge
A team player who takes pride in their work.
