Nursery Manager - Full time
Location: Maxwellton Park Nursery and OSC
Salary: Competitive (depending on qualifications and experience)
Contract Type: Temporary (with the possibility of becoming permanent, subject to service needs and organisational requirements)
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week (negotiable, depending on the needs of the service and the successful candidate)
Working Pattern: Term time only (school holidays off)
Working Hours: The nursery and out of school care operates between 8.00am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday. Flexible working patterns may be agreed to support a positive work-life balance, provided the needs of the service are met.
Please note: This is a term-time only post; however, occasional attendance outside normal working hours may be required to attend Local Authority partnership meetings, training, staff meetings or other service-related events.

Maxwellton Park Nursery and Out of School Care is a well-established, family-oriented Early Learning and Childcare service in Paisley, providing funded nursery education in partnership with Renfrewshire Council alongside out of school care. We are seeking an experienced, motivated and inspirational Nursery Manager to lead both services. This temporary role (with the potential to become permanent) offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team, drive continuous improvement and build strong partnerships with families, schools, Renfrewshire Council and other agencies.

Key Responsibilities
· Lead and support the nursery and out of school care team, managing staff rotas, performance and professional development
· Oversee the implementation of the curriculum and ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate and Scottish Government standards
· Deliver high-quality early learning and childcare in line with Curriculum for Excellence
· Oversee safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing of children
· Promote and embed a culture of safeguarding throughout the nursery, ensuring all staff understand and fulfil their child protection responsibilities
· Ensure safer recruitment, induction and supervision practices are followed in accordance with Care Inspectorate guidance and organisational policies
· Maintain strong partnerships with parents, carers and external agencies
· Manage budgets, occupancy, and administrative duties
· Drive continuous improvement and maintain a warm, inclusive environment for all children
· Represent the nursery at Local Authority partnership meetings and work collaboratively with Education Services and other partner agencies
· Lead self-evaluation and continuous quality improvement using Education Scotland and Care Inspectorate quality framework
· Prepare for and lead Care Inspectorate inspections
· Build effective relationships with local schools and community partners
· Maintain effective partnerships with Renfrewshire Council and ensure compliance with funded provider requirements
Requirements
· BA in Childhood Practice or an SCQF Level 9 qualification (or working towards one)
· Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
· Proven experience in a senior or management role within an early years setting
· Strong leadership and organisational skills
· Excellent knowledge of GIRFEC and child protection procedures
· Passion for delivering outstanding childcare
· Demonstrable commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
