Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Stylist - Junior Dog Groomer to join our professional pet grooming team. This role involves supporting senior groomers in delivering high-quality grooming services, ensuring the comfort and wellbeing of each dog. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a keen eye for detail, contributing to a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners.

Duties

Assisting senior groomers with bathing, drying, and grooming dogs according to specified styles and standards
Handling dogs gently and confidently to ensure a stress-free grooming experience
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of grooming tools and workstations
Assisting with the preparation of grooming areas before and after appointments
Providing excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners and addressing any concerns or questions
Supporting the team in managing heavy lifting tasks, such as moving larger animals or equipment safely
Ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols at all times

Requirements

Previous veterinary experience or animal care background is highly desirable
Genuine love for animals and a compassionate approach to their wellbeing
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Willingness to undertake heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety procedures are followed
Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Organised, reliable, with a keen eye for detail in grooming standards
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 24.0 per week
