Multi-Instrumentalist Tutor

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Multi-Instrumentalist Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching a range of musical instruments to children and young learners, with the ability to inspire confidence, creativity, and a love for music. Strong communication skills and a positive teaching approach are essential. Experience in special education is an advantage but not mandatory.

Candidates should be able to play and teach at least two of the following instruments:

Piano/Keyboard
Guitar
Violin
Flute
Drums
Tabla

Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small group music lessons tailored to individual student needs.
Teach a variety of musical instruments based on the candidate’s expertise.
Prepare students for performances, concerts, and ABRSM/Trinity grade examinations where appropriate.
Develop engaging and structured lesson plans suitable for different age groups and skill levels.
Assess student progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student development and progress.
Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment that promotes musical growth and confidence.
Support school music activities, clubs, ensembles, or performances when required.
Stay updated with current music education practices and teaching methodologies.

Experience

Previous experience working with children in an educational or music teaching setting is essential.
Proven experience teaching one or more musical instruments.
Familiarity with ABRSM or Trinity examination boards is desirable.
Experience in special education practices is advantageous but not required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
A passion for music education and helping students develop their musical abilities and confidence.
