Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fire Damper Technician to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing fire dampers within commercial and industrial buildings. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in equipment repair, with a focus on air conditioning and building maintenance systems. Duties
- Inspect, test, and service fire dampers in accordance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose faults using schematics and technical manuals, then execute repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Conduct routine maintenance on fire dampers and associated HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilise mechanical skills to troubleshoot issues related to air conditioning systems and ventilation components.
- Lead small teams during installation or repair projects, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Document all work performed accurately, maintaining detailed records for compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with building management and safety teams to schedule inspections and coordinate repairs efficiently.
- Stay updated on industry standards, building codes, and technological advancements relevant to fire dampers and HVAC systems.
Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment repair, or construction environments.
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and system diagrams related to HVAC or fire safety equipment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise or mentor junior team members.
- Familiarity with air conditioning systems, ventilation, and general building maintenance practices.
- Prior experience working with fire safety systems or in a similar technical role is highly desirable.
