About The Role

Speech and Language Therapist (Part-Time, 3-5 Days per Week) - Relocation Allowance Aavailable

Location: Petherton Park School, North Petherton (TA6)

Salary: £19,372.50 to £23,322.60 for 22.5 hours per week (3-5 days, 42 weeks per year) (FTE equivalent: £39,975.00 to £48,126.00)
Contract: Permanent – Term Time Only

About the Role

Are you a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist ready to make a meaningful impact? Or a Speech and Language Therapist looking to take the next step in your career without compromising on balance?

In this role, you will support pupils with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism, helping them develop essential communication skills to thrive. Your work will empower children to express themselves, build confidence, and engage with the world around them.

Each day begins with a collaborative team briefing, followed by a varied mix of:

1:1 therapy sessions
Small group interventions
In-class support alongside teachers

You’ll also have opportunities to:

Support and mentor less experienced therapists
Contribute to training and development of Team Members
Support pupils on placement

We are committed to your professional growth, with protected time for clinical development and ongoing training—so you can continue progressing while enjoying a balanced schedule.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

Delivering trauma-informed therapy to a manageable caseload of pupils with SEMH needs, Learning Disabilities, and Autism
Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, teachers, and teaching assistants
Participating in team meetings and contributing to holistic care plans
Completing administrative tasks easily during quieter periods or from home during school holidays

What You’ll Need

Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
HCPC Registration and RCSLT membership
Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Full UK driving licence (occasional offsite meetings)
