Job overview:
Are you a seasoned compliance professional with a passion for ensuring regulatory excellence in a dynamic environment? We’re looking for a Compliance and Policy Manager to enhance AGH UK’s compliance framework. You'll be responsible for making sure we meet all regulatory standards, supporting strategic decisions, and helping us stay ahead of emerging regulations. You’ll undertake horizon scanning for regulatory developments, delivering high-quality governance reports, managing risks, and collaborating across teams to reduce dependencies on single points of failure.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead on the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of AGH’s compliance framework, including ensuring policies and procedures align with regulatory requirements and Group Standards.
- Support governance reporting by preparing high‑quality reports, dashboards, and management information for boards, executive committees, and other governance forums, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timely delivery.
- Maintain and update action trackers, risk registers, and issue logs.
- Oversee compliance‑related activities in SCALA and group reporting systems, including the management of group occurrence reporting and follow‑up actions.
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify emerging regulatory developments and prepare high‑quality briefing papers (e.g. on policy statements, consultation papers, and guidance).
- Work closely with the wider compliance function to assess impacts on AGH UK’s business, including any required policy and procedural updates.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the team on critical compliance activities, including regulatory reporting to relevant regulators including the FCA and JFSC and compliance advisory matters, to help reduce single‑point dependencies.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.
We know that some candidates may be discouraged from applying if they don't meet every requirement. If you’re excited by this job and the prospect of working at AXA but you’re not sure you tick every box, we’d still encourage you to apply.
Your skills & experience:
- Proven experience in regulatory compliance within a globally regulated environment, preferably in insurance and financial services.
- Strong knowledge of the FCA rules and guidance especially conduct of business and systems and controls requirements.
- Experience of working with legal teams and providing pragmatic, sound advice on compliance matters.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyse complex regulations, including in international regimes.
- Proven track record of leading compliance developments and finding innovative solutions.
- Excellent research skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in report writing and presenting complex information clearly.
- Ability to work within defined standards, practices, and timescales.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
