As demand for our products continues to grow, we're looking for a talented and detail-focused R&D Designer to help drive product innovation and support the development of our next generation of structures.

The Role
As an R&D Designer, you'll be responsible for creating and developing new product designs, refining existing systems, and producing detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings for a wide range of steel structures.
Working closely with our Engineering, Manufacturing, and Project teams, you'll play a key role in bringing innovative ideas to life while ensuring designs are practical, cost-effective, and production-ready.
No two projects are the same, so you'll need to be comfortable managing multiple design tasks simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
What You'll Be Doing
· Creating 3D models and visuals using SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Supporting the development of new products from concept through to production
- Designing steel structures and fabricated components for manufacture and installation
- Producing accurate technical documentation to facilitate commercial assessments of products
- Reviewing designs for manufacturability, compliance, and cost efficiency
- Collaborating with manufacturing teams to resolve design and production challenges
- Managing multiple projects and design requests in a high-volume environment
- Participating in product testing, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintaining design standards, version control, and engineering documentation
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a technically strong designer who combines creativity with engineering precision.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience using SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software
- Experience designing fabricated steel structures, components, or assemblies
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Understanding of manufacturing, fabrication and installation processes
- Experience working within a fast-paced, high-volume design environment
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing deadlines
Desirable
- Experience within structural steel, construction products, canopies, architectural metalwork, or related industries
- Understanding of engineering calculations and structural design principles
- Familiarity with design portals and document control processes
