Full job description

Accounts Clerk

We are looking for a reliable and organised Accounts Clerk with practical experience in VAT returns, and day to day accountancy duties. Working in a small office environment this role is ideal for someone who is confident working independently with routine accounting and tax requirements. Some knowledge of construction industry preferred, but not essential.

Responsibilities

· Preparing and filing VAT returns accurately and on time

· Managing bookkeeping and maintaining financial records

· Reconciling bank accounts and financial transactions

· Dealing with payroll and CIS returns

· Using Sage accounting software

· Preparing VAT returns

· Payroll submissions to HMRC – RTI submissions Etc

· General admin duties

Requirements

· Experience preparing VAT returns and self-assessments

· Good understanding of bookkeeping and general accounting principles

· Strong attention to detail and organisation skills

· Ability to manage deadlines and workload efficiently

· Good communication skills

· Experience with Sage accounting software

· Previous knowledge of CIS and payroll

· Experience dealing directly with HMRC matters

Position Details

· Part time at least 20hrs +/week fixed over 4 days, plus more when required

· Competitive salary based on experience
