Senior MRI Radiographer

As a Senior MRI Radiographer, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care while producing high-quality diagnostic images that support each patient’s clinical pathway. You will provide a professional, efficient, and patient-centred MRI service, working collaboratively within a skilled and dynamic multidisciplinary team.
You will be responsible for performing MRI examinations in line with best practice and current legislation, including MHRA Guidance (2015), IR(ME)R (2017), and the Code of Clinical Practice. You will operate the Philips Ingenia BlueSeal 1.5T Ambition MRI scanner, utilising its advanced capabilities to deliver optimal diagnostic quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver an outstanding patient experience, supporting patients throughout their journey from referral to results
- Perform MRI examinations to a high clinical standard, ensuring image quality and patient safety
- Conduct routine quality assurance checks on MRI equipment and take appropriate action where required
- Respect and work within patients’ cultural, personal, and spiritual beliefs, ensuring their views are acknowledged and considered
- Triage MRI referrals in accordance with clinical protocols
- Support patient booking processes and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records on imaging systems
- Ensure patients are fully informed about matters relating to patient safety, including Duty of Candour, clinical governance, and risk management, in line with CQC standards and organisational policies
- Promote openness, transparency, and patient involvement by communicating clearly, honestly, and compassionately at all stages of the patient journey
- Complete and support competency assessments for staff as required
- Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and operational standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment
- Share clinical knowledge and experience with colleagues to promote continuous professional development and team growth
About the Service
Vitalscan is a private diagnostic centre based in Milton Keynes, offering a warm, friendly, and professional working environment. Our experienced MRI team specialises in a wide range of examinations, including MSK, Neuro, Urology, and Cardiac MRI.
We are proud to work with the Philips Ingenia BlueSeal 1.5T Ambition MRI scanner, as well as other state-of-the-art equipment, and alongside highly respected consultants in the region. As an organisation that places strong emphasis on patient experience, you will be expected to demonstrate a holistic, patient-centred approach, while also supporting the Imaging Manager in achieving service and business objectives.

Person Specification
Essential Requirements:
- HCPC registered Radiographer
- BSc Degree in Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year post-graduate MRI experience
- Experience in Cardiac MRI – essential
- IELTS 6 or NARIC B2 – essential
- Flexible approach to working patterns, including overtime when required
Working Hours
- Service operates Monday to Sunday, 09:00 – 21:00
- 40 hours per week
