Alan Spargo Ltd is a long-established precision engineering and press tooling manufacturer with over 50 years of experience supplying high-performance industries including automotive, motorsport and advanced manufacturing.
We are currently looking to recruit a technically minded and digitally capable individual to support our toolmaking and production teams.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our Production Manager, gaining direct exposure to the engineering, design and commercial aspects of our manufacturing business.
For the right candidate, this role offers significant career progression within the business, with the potential to develop into management, estimating or technical sales role over time.
The Role
The successful candidate will support the engineering and commercial teams in reviewing customer enquiries and preparing quotations for manufacture.
You will work closely with management, designers and engineers, helping manage the enquiry process from initial customer enquiry through to quotation and order placement.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their engineering career who wants to develop both technical and commercial skills within a high-precision manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review incoming customer enquiries, drawings and specifications
- Work closely with the entire team to determine manufacturing approach and tooling requirements
- Assist with cost estimation and quotation preparation
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing
- Maintain and update information within our ERP system
- Support the customer enquiry process from initial enquiry through to purchase order
- Assist with technical communication between customers, engineers and suppliers
- Support the continuous improvement of estimating and production processes
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Strong IT skills and confidence using PC systems, Excel and engineering software
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Familiarity with AI software to compliment efficiency
- Interest in manufacturing, tooling or precision engineering
Desirable
- Experience within press tooling, toolmaking, precision machining or sheet metal manufacturing
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Exposure to CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, VISI, or similar)
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, EDM, grinding or toolmaking

- Commercially minded with strong communication skills
- Ambitious and motivated to develop their career within engineering
