Full job description

Location: Bakewell, Derbyshire
Job Type: Full-time, PermanentThe Bakewell Bakery is looking for a hardworking, organised and reliable Storeroom & Janitorial Assistant to join our growing team.This is a varied, hands-on role that is essential to keeping our bakery running efficiently. You'll be responsible for maintaining an organised storeroom, ensuring production teams have the supplies they need, and helping to maintain a clean, safe and well-presented working environment.Key Responsibilities

Receive and check all deliveries.
Organise and rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out).
Keep the storeroom clean, tidy and well organised.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
Issue ingredients, packaging and consumables to production teams.
Safely move stock around the bakery using appropriate equipment.
Carry out general janitorial duties throughout the site.
Clean communal areas, production support areas and external spaces as required.
Empty bins and manage waste and recycling.
Assist with deep cleaning schedules.
Support with basic maintenance tasks and report any repairs required.
Ensure all work is completed in line with food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
Help other departments when required during busy periods.

Reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work.
Well organised with excellent attention to detail.
Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
Able to work independently and as part of a busy team.
Proactive and willing to help wherever needed.
Previous warehouse, stores, cleaning or janitorial experience is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided.
