The Role
We are looking for a skilled and versatile MET Technician / Panel Beater to join our growing team. This is a hybrid role for an experienced technician who is confident carrying out both mechanical, electrical and trim (MET) work, alongside high-quality panel repairs.
You will be responsible for stripping and refitting vehicles, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical components, carrying out panel repairs, replacing damaged panels where required, and ensuring vehicles are restored to manufacturer standards. Working closely with the Bodyshop team, you will play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality repairs from start to finish.
Relevant ATA qualifications are preferred; however, we will also consider experienced applicants with strong practical skills in both disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical, electrical and trim (MET) repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
- Diagnose faults and identify the most effective repair methods.
- Strip and refit vehicle components, including airbags, wiring looms, steering, suspension, interior trim, and other mechanical and electrical parts.
- Repair damaged body panels using approved repair techniques.
- Replace and align damaged panels, ensuring accurate fit and finish.
- Carry out structural repairs and body alignment where required.
- Perform geometry checks and wheel alignments.
- Work in line with manufacturer specifications, safety standards and insurance repair methods.
- Carry out quality checks to ensure all repairs meet required standards before completion.
- Maintain accurate job records and communicate effectively with the workshop team.
- Use specialist tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- ATA MET and/or ATA Panel Technician Accreditation, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in both MET and panel repair work within an accident repair environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Excellent panel repair and alignment skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Own tools.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work efficiently to manufacturer repair times.
Desirable (but not essential)
- Hybrid / EV training.
- ADAS accreditation.
- Aluminium repair certification.
