Full job description

Import / Export Coordinator – Middlesbrough Head Office

We are looking for an import / export coordinator to work in a busy office environment in Middlesbrough. The successful candidate will be part of our international team and will be responsible for aspects of international trade, which would cover, but not limited, to the below:

· Processing shipping documents for imports and creating customs clearance instructions.

· Monitoring and reviewing customs clearance documents to ensure they are correct in line with HMRC standards.

· Processing inbound customs authorisation consignments as well as maintaining our records in compliance with HMRC requirements.

· Reviewing the company PVA statement monthly to ensure all filings are accurate.

· Liaising with our approved logistics partners for international logistics enquiries to gain a competitive market price in line with our customer requirements.

· Working closely with our Dubai team to secure competitive pricing on consignments for stock deliveries to the UAE or directly to their customers.

· Creating and processing all documents required for transport, i.e. commercial invoices, packing lists, and Chamber documents.

· Assisting with elements of the international purchase ledger account by way of processing supplier invoices against company purchase orders.

· Processing of invoices for import customs clearances and export transport costs.

· Coordinating international non-conformities with our QA team and our international suppliers to resolve relevant requests.

· Any other ad hoc jobs to cover the dept due to staff holidays when required.

The successful candidate will have at least one year’s recent experience within a similar role due to the busy nature of the department. The candidate must also have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and must be able to communicate at all levels comfortably. Being proactive and able to work towards deadlines is essential along with a good working knowledge of a variety of Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint etc.) Full training of bespoke programmes will be provided.
