Job Introduction
Igne are seeking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the successful and expanding Ground Investigation Division (GI England) based from Chester-le-Street, County Durham. You will be responsible for managing large complex ground investigation projects and have the expertise to write first class interpretative reports.

Key responsibilities

Collect, validate, and log subsurface data, including borehole logs, sampling records, and geophysical survey outputs.

Perform geological interpretation of site data to develop factual logs and initial ground models.

Contribute to technical reporting, preparing factual geotechnical logs, laboratory data summaries, and interpretative narratives.

Maintain project schedules and resource allocations in collaboration with the Geotechnical Co‑ordinator.

Support tender preparation by providing scope input, cost estimates, and technical write‑ups.

Monitor specialist equipment usage and report any maintenance or calibration requirements.

Oversee and manage ground investigation projects.
The following are requirements for this position

Bachelor or Masters’ degree in a related subject (Geotechnical Engineering, Geology and Environmental Science or related discipline)

Previous experience in contract management of ground investigation projects

Excellent written and oral communication skills and reporting abilities

Ability to work as part of a team

Full driving licence (travel is required)
